Winter Concert 2012: Trains, bilingual songs, and holiday carols!

The Winter Concert is an annual December tradition at Nomura Preschool, and this year was a rousing success. Everyone gets a chance to perform for the audience, showcasing a variety of songs, holiday carols and even a play, featuring amazing costumes.

The Chickie class set the stage with a few merry holiday carols. Music is a big part of a Chickie’s day, and by adding hand gestures and instruments, like these wooden sticks, Chickie’s improve their sense of rhythm and hand-eye coordination.

The next act came as a collaboration between the Roosters, Pandas & Penguins. The students performed the play, “The Little Engine That Could”, from the popular books and PBS TV series. Check out these amazing costumes:

Pandas and Penguins gathered next to perform songs in other languages. Did you know Nomura Preschool was originally founded as a music school by Mrs. Faith Nomura in Berkeley, CA? Her love of music is a legacy that continues in our Winter Concert.
